Cancellation, Refund & Subscription Policy

Standard Website Renovation Plan
This policy summarizes the standard payment, cancellation, subscription, and ownership structure for Site Renovation Co's standard website-renovation service. A signed Client Services Agreement and approved order form control if specific client terms differ from this policy.
1. Standard Plan
The standard Site Renovation Co package is a $750 setup fee plus $149 per month for an initial 12-month term. The standard setup generally covers a renovation of up to 5 core pages, subject to the approved project scope.
Recurring billing normally begins when the website goes live. If the client has given written final approval but delays launch for more than 14 days for reasons within the client's control, Site Renovation Co may treat that date as service commencement and begin the recurring term.
2. What the $149 Plan Includes
- managed website hosting;
- SSL;
- reasonable security and dependency maintenance;
- uptime and form monitoring;
- backup and version-history protection;
- standard support;
- two small content-change requests per month; and
- up to 30 minutes of work per included request.
Unused requests do not roll over. Additional work is quoted separately before work begins. Site Renovation Co may occasionally provide additional complimentary work when capacity allows; such bonus work is discretionary and does not modify the guaranteed monthly allowance.
3. Initial 12-Month Term
The initial 12-month term combines website acquisition and ongoing managed service. For purposes of early termination, $100 of each first-year monthly payment represents the website-acquisition portion and $49 represents the managed-service portion. The $149 monthly rate is fixed during the initial 12-month term.
4. Website Ownership
During the initial term, the client is licensed to use the website while Site Renovation Co retains ownership under the Client Services Agreement. After all required first-year payments are completed, ownership of the client-specific finished website transfers to the client.
The client receives the production-ready source code and client-specific assets necessary to operate the finished website. Site Renovation Co retains ownership of reusable templates, internal components, frameworks, libraries, boilerplate, development systems, and internal tooling. The client receives everything reasonably necessary to operate the completed site, but does not acquire ownership of Site Renovation Co's broader reusable development systems.
5. Early Cancellation and Buyout
A client may exit the initial 12-month term early by paying the remaining website-acquisition balance. The early buyout equals $100 multiplied by the number of months remaining in the initial 12-month term.
Example: if 8 months remain, the early buyout is 8 x $100 = $800. After payment of the applicable buyout amount, ownership may transfer under the Client Services Agreement. Future $49 managed-service portions for months in which service will not be provided are not charged.
6. After Month 12
After the initial 12-month term, the client owns the completed website and the $149/month care plan automatically continues month-to-month unless canceled. No new fixed-term commitment is created unless separately agreed. The client may cancel before the next renewal date.
After the initial term, Site Renovation Co may change the month-to-month care-plan price with at least 30 days' written notice.
7. Cancellation After Ownership Transfer
Once the client owns the website and cancels the care plan, Site Renovation Co provides a 30-day handoff window. Reasonable handoff assistance may include source-code export, basic deployment guidance, DNS assistance, and reasonable transfer coordination. A major rebuild, migration, or adaptation to a materially different platform may require a separate quote.
After cancellation and handoff, Site Renovation Co has no continuing obligation to provide hosting, maintenance, monitoring, edits, updates, or support unless new services are purchased.
8. Failed Payments
If a recurring payment fails, the client receives a 7-day grace period and Stripe may automatically retry the payment. After the 7-day grace period, Site Renovation Co may suspend managed service or hosting if payment remains outstanding.
If payment remains unresolved for 30 days, Site Renovation Co may terminate service. During the initial 12-month term, the remaining website-acquisition balance may then become due, calculated as $100 multiplied by the number of months remaining. No separate late fee is charged under the standard plan.
9. Refunds
Setup fees and recurring payments are generally non-refundable once charged. However, Site Renovation Co may choose to refund a setup fee when a client cancels before onboarding or design work has begun; refunds will be provided where required by applicable law; and if Site Renovation Co materially cannot complete the agreed project and terminates the engagement, the unearned portion attributable to work or services not provided will be refunded.
A discretionary refund does not create an obligation to provide similar refunds in other situations.
10. Payment Disputes
Clients are encouraged to contact Site Renovation Co first with billing concerns. A chargeback or payment dispute may result in temporary suspension of work, hosting, or managed services while the dispute is reviewed. Site Renovation Co does not impose a separate chargeback penalty fee. Amounts ultimately determined to be properly owed remain due.
11. Taxes
Advertised and quoted prices exclude applicable taxes unless expressly stated otherwise. Where required by law, applicable sales, use, or similar taxes may be added to invoices or checkout.
